Early sweet potatoes to the amount of 37 carloads, or approximately 7,500 barrels, mostly from the Powell’s Point region were shipped thru this city up to Tuesday night of this week, and the movement was gaining in volume. Prices ranged from $8 to $10 per barrel, and were making money for the growers. The crop this year will total 60,000 barrels, estimates N. Howard Smith, one of the leading dealers of this city.
