Saturday afternoon at Buckthorn church was held the first reunion of the Avent family in the county.
Eight children of the late Henry Avert were present, the youngest of whom was in her 53rd year. Besides the children and grandchildren, many great grandchildren were there. A regular old-time southern dinner was enjoyed, pictures of the family were made and all declared it a day never to be forgotten.
