Janie Williams, Clara Woodall, Gertrude Brady Guilty of Shoplifting, March 8, 1921

Janie Williams, Clara Woodall and Gertrude Brady, negro women of Dunn, were tried before Judge ?? Monday on a charge of shoplifting. They were found guilty, but judgment was suspended with the understanding that they pay for the merchandise stolen, the cost of the case, and not appear on the streets of Dunn at a later hour than 9 o’clock during one year from the date of the trial. If they fail to live up to the agreement, they will go to jail for 60 days.

Several articles of merchandise were found in their possession when the arrest was made. This was returned to the stores from which it was taken.

Warrants have been issued for several others but the arrests have not been made yet.
