W.L. White, plaintiff in the civil court suit of White against the Carolina Realty Company, was awarded a verdict of $2,500 by the jury Tuesday afternoon. The suit resulted from a collision on West Trade street near Erwin’s creek, in which the plaintiff’s automobile, driven by himself, collided with a truck belonging to the realty company. Mr. White’s claim for damages was based on personal injuries.
Wednesday the court was hearing the case of the Mecklenburg Land Company against the Rock River Land, Lumber and Mining Company, in which the alleged breach of contract is the subject of litigation.
