A steel and copper plate engraving shop has been opened here at 5 ½ South Church Street on “Newspaper and Move Row” by W.A. Buening & Company, with W.A. Buening as president and manager. The shop will be the only one in this part of the country nearer than Richmond on the one hand, Atlanta on the other, and Louisville, Ky., on the other. The company chose Charlotte as the home of its office because of the increasing growth of industrial and other business of this section of the South, its freedom from business depression and because it has quick and eay access by railway to all adjacent sections.
Charlotte capital is largely represented In the new company, which will remain the first enterprise of its kind ever opened here. Mr. Buening, president and manager of the shop, has had 15 years’ experience in steel and copper plating, and is regarded as an expert.
The office is open and ready for business, Mr. Buening having arrived here some days ago and made ready for business before announcing his plans.
