Dies of Surgery Meant to Remove Criminal Tendencies, Aug. 3, 1924

War Veteran Dead as Operation Fails

By the Associated Press

Kingman, Arizona, Aug. 2—Anton W. Wroblewsk, Detroit war veteran, who was released from the California state prison after a skull operation to relieve him from criminal tendencies resulting from shell shock, will be buried here with full military honors tomorrow.

He was on his way home to his relatives and a niece when he died from “delayed effects” of the operation. After his conviction for robbery, as a “dangerous criminal,” he was adjudged insane, but the judge was convinced of his recovery after the operation and help obtain his release.
