Joe Moose, Mechanic, Painfully Burned, Aug. 9, 1924

Fire at Cabarrus Motor Co. . . . Joe Moose Painfully Burned in Blaze During Morning

In a small blaze at the Cabarrus Motor Co. this morning about 8:30, Joe Moose, one of the mechanics, was severely burned about the hands and arms. No damage was done to the building.

The fire occurred in one of the p its where Moose was at work under a Ford. The trash in the pit was saturated with gasoline and when it became ignited Moose was badly burned before he could climb out. How the pit caught fire could not be ascertained. The employes in the garage were unable to state definitely the cause.

The fire department quickly responded and soon had the blaze extinguished with the aid of chemicals.
