Police Find Moonshine in Henry Fuller's Valise, Aug. 10, 1924

Find Moonshine in Passenger’s Valise. . . Henry Fuller, Wake County Negro, Arrested with 5½ Gallons

Five and one-half gallons of whiskey were found in a valise carried by Henry Fuller, Wake county negro, when he stepped off a train from Raleigh Friday afternoon. Officers noticed that the innocent appearing passenger carried the bag as if it were heavy and breakable. Upon search, five fruit jars of moonshine were seen carefully packed away.

Fuller boarded the train in Wake county between Durham and Raleigh, intending to dispose of his wares in this city. His customers are still waiting for the stock of wet goods.

Saturday morning Fuller was tried in recorder’s court for transporting whiskey and given a sentence of 90 days on the county roads.
