Nuptials Get Six Licenses. . . Cupid Rounds Up Record Number of Victims

A layer of dust several weeks old was brushed from the marriage license books in the register of deeds office Saturday morning, and before the short hand of the wall clock pointed to 6 o’clock, six couples had obtained marriage licenses. This set a record for any one day during the summer months.

The following were granted licenses:

David B. Creech, 28, and Imogene E. Chaney, 21, both of Duham.

James H. Harrell, 21, and Nannie Bell Evans, 18, both of Durham.

H.V. Adams, 23, and Maude Thompson, 18, both of Durham.

Gordon J. Broyal, 21, and Bunie A. Jones, 22, both of Durham.

Rufus K. Moore and Minnie Weisner, 24, both of Durham.

Cosmore Harber, 18, of Greensboro, and Estella Shaw, 18, of Durham, colored.
