Oxford, Aug. 9—Mrs. R.M. Ray delightfully entertained at a supper party given at the Powell Club near Oxford in honor of the new brides, Mrs. B.W. Parham and Mrs. Marshall Pinnix. A delicious supper was served, after which the guests enjoyed boating and fishing.

Mrs. Roland Gooch is visiting in Franklinton.

Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Powell are spending some time at Blowing Rock.

Mrs. W.W. Crews has returned from Greensboro and Salisbury, where she was visiting friends.

Mrs. F.S. Broddie and little daughter, of Durham, are the guests of Mrs. M.E. Cannady.

Rev. Allred, Miss Dora Kimball Allred and Mrs. Marvin Minor are spending a week at Sanford.

Miss Margaret Davis has returned from a trip to Atlantic City and the Shenandoah Valley.

Miss Willie Mae Currin has returned from a visit to her parents in Sanford.

Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Johnson and children have returned from a visit to Benson.

George W. Hobgood has returned from a two months’ stay in Florida.

Miss Ruth Anderson of Winston-Salem is visiting her cousin, Miss Irene Hulse.

Little Miss Sarah Bruce Gooch of Wake Forest is spending a while with John Gooch.

J. Ennis Davis, chairman of the board of county commissioners, is in Oxford today.

The members of the B.Y.P.U. enjoyed a weinie roast at Gohlsons yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. J.F. Veasey is spending awhile at Connelly Springs and other points in western North Carolina.

Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Crews, Miss Helen Rose Whitten and W.W. Devin are on a motor trip to Lynchburg and the mountains in Virginia.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Blalock and children left this morning for Wrightsville Beach, where they will stay until the first of September.

Miss Katherine Osborne of St. Petersburg, Fla., is the guests of Misses Virginia and Laureta Howard on Hancock street.

Miss Annie Osborne of Lawrenceville, Va., and Miss F.C. McDowell of Zebulon are the guests of Mrs. I.N. Howard.

Mr. and Mrs. A.N. Crichter and little daughter have returned from Moravian Falls, where they have been spending several weeks.

Misses Virginia and Lauretta Howard have returned from a pleasant visit to Mrs. F.C. McDowell at Zebulon.

Mrs. J.B. Johnson and daughter, Ullianee, have returned to their home in Moultrie, Ga., after a visit with Miss Marguerite Cannady.

Allie Morris is spending a couple of weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Morris, at Youngsville. He will also visit his brother before returning to Oxford.

Mrs. Titus Currin and daughter, Mary, and W.B. Pittard and family left this morning by motor for several weeks’ stay at Wrightsville Beach.

Mrs. W.H. Walters and Mrs. Sidney Walters attended the marriage in Raleigh of Miss Eula Bell Moore and John C. Bachelor, which was solemnized on Tuesday afternoon.
