Gets Two Years for Manslaughter

Fayetteville, May 27—Cyril Lauchlin of Albemarle, private in an engineering company at Fort Bragg, was Tuesday sentenced to two years in the state prison after submitting to a plea of guilty to manslaughter when he was placed on trial in the superior court with Edward A. Matthews on a second degree murder charge for the killing of William Burke, a taxi driver. Judge Henry A. Grady dismissed the case against Matthews as there was no evidence against him.
