The residence of Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Nash at Rosemary was destroyed by fire about 4 a.m. yesterday morning. Practically nothing being saved except a trunk full of clothes which had just arrived from Lumberton, where Mrs. Nash and children had been on a visit to relatives and which had been left on the porch. The house was almost ready to fall when Mr. and Mrs. Nash were waked by their small daughter, Roberta Kate, who heard a crackling noise and told her mother it must be raining very hard. When investigation was made it was found that they barely had time to escape.
It is thought that the fire was caused by defective wiring. The loss is partially covered by insurance.
Mrs. Nash is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.B. McLeod and Mr. Nash is a son of Mrs. A. Nash of Lumberton.
