Earl Sandburn in Jail Following Accident, May 23, 1925

Concord Highway Wreck Gets Youth in Trouble

Charlotte Observer, 23rd

Col. Geo. W. Means of Concord entered charges of assault with a deadly weapon—an automobile—and reckless driving against Earl Sandburn, young Lincoln County man, here yesterday.

Unable to give $250 bond named by Magistrate W.S. Huggins, the defendant went to jail while is friends made efforts to affect his release. Sanburn is represented by F.M. Reed. The defendant has been employed in a Charlotte restaurant.

The charges grew out of an automobile wreck on the Concord Road Sunday afternoon in which Colonel and Mrs. Means, driving a closed car, were overturned and narrowly escaped injury. The colonel charges Sandburn with driving on the wrong side of the road, causing the wreck.

The case will be heard before Magistrate Huggins next Wednesday.
