Monday evening Sheriff Brooks and deputies Clayton and Gentry made a capture of a still and four men, with 26 gallons of whiskey. The capture was made in the north east part of the County, near Virgilina. The captured were Charles and Clem Faulkner, Emmond and Percy Burton, all colored. They were given a hearing and bound over to court.
Sheriff Brooks is making a record which exceedingly pleasing to his prohibition friends, and if the courts will uphold him by dishing out a few road sentences, he will rid this County of this nefarious business.
