Josephine Pulley Killed by Drunken Driver of Stolen Truck, Dec. 17, 1921

Woman Killed in Auto Wreck Near Rocky Mount. . . Several Other Persons Injured

Rocky Mount—Josephine Pulley, negress, was instantly killed and T.W. Barthlomew, U.S. deputy marshall, and J.S. Cockerell, driver of a bus, were painfully injured here last night when a delivery truck collided with a Nashville-bound buss loaded with passengers. Lee Dunston, driver of the truck, has been placed in jail on a charge of manslaughter. He is also charged with having stolen the truck and with having been under the influence of liquor when the accident occurred. The Pulley woman was riding with Dunston.
