On Saturday morning, Dec. 5th, 1921, the death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Mizelle and took away their darling little baby. She was born on November 21st, 1921, being only two weeks and five days old. All was done for her that could be but it was God’s will to take her away and she is gone.
She was laid away in the family graveyard on Saturday afternoon at 3:30. Blanche Mozelle played very softly on the piano and her little sister Ruby sang “Jesus Loves Me.” The little twin sisters, Nita and Nellie Davis, carried the flowers to the grave and Bessie, Mame, Juba Mizelle and Ione Davis were the pall bearers. Bro. D.W. Arnold conducted funeral services.
Our darling little baby is sleeping sweetly in a newmade grave today.
We are weeping, gently weeping for our darling’s gone away.
There is a vacant place in our home that cannot be filled,
But God knoweth best and doeth all things well.
She is gone but not forgotten.
