Nome, March 21—Dr. Curtis Welch, sole physician of Nome, who worked night and day during the height of the epidemic has received word from Candle, 250 miles northeast of here, that an epidemic of sore throats with symptoms of diphtheria was spreading among residents of Buckland River.
