A Ford sedan was smashed to “smithereens” and a travelling man whose name was given as Black was slightly injured when the machine took the middle of the forked road on East Morehead Friday night about 10:30 o’clock and ran into a huge boulder. Mr. Black was taken to the office of Dr. C.A. Misenhimer in the city, where his injuries were attended. A companion was not hurt other than a few bruises.
The two men were said to have been on their way to Jacksonville, Fla. Near the Myers Park entrance from Morehead street the roads forked. The travelers failed to see the turn in the road and went straight ahead.
