Plans were virtually completed Saturday at a meeting of the board of directors of the Mecklenburg Co-operative Jersey Breeders Association held at the court house for the second annual sale of Mecklenburg-bred Jersey cattle, which will be held at a date in October.
At the meeting of the directors of the association Saturday a sales committee was appointed to arrange further details of the sale and to co-operate with Farm Demonstration Agent C.E. Miller in preparing for the event. The members of the committee are Ray Lee, W.F. Watt and P.A. Irwin. More than 50 cattle will be consigned for the sale and four will be consigned by the North Carolina State College, Prof. Ruffner of the college having made arrangements for this Saturday while in the city.
Some of the breeders who have consigned cattle to the sale are those who have representatives of several Jersey families in their herds and desire to specialize on a certain type. They will therefore sell these pure-breds from their herds on which they do not wish to specialize.
