Winston-Salem, Feb. 21—The Broadway theater building on Liberty street between Fourth and Fifth streets, was completely destroyed by fire which started from an undetermined cause early this morning. Only the front and rear walls were left standing when the flames were finally extinguished, the interior of the structure being completely gutted. All furniture and fixtures were destroyed, there being no opportunity for salvage of the theater property.
The building in which the theater was located was owned by Mrs. D.H. Blair, of this city and Washington. It was erected 12 years ago at a cost of $20,000.
