Monument to be Erected for Chief Justice Walter Clark, Feb. 18, 1925

Approve Bill for Monument to Clark. . . Miss Julia Alexander Wins Victory in Committee—Appropriation of $1,000

Raleigh, Feb. 17—Miss Julia Alexander drew favor from a committee of the house today when she argued and won a victory for the favorable report of her bill to erect a monument to the late Chief Justice Walter Clark. The bill carried an appropriation of $10,000 and necessarily the hearing was before the finance committee. The vote was understood to have been unanimous.

A committee including Governor McLean, R.O. Everett, Miss Alexander and Fred I. Sutton will look into the matter further and advise as to the site and other matters pertaining to the bill.
