George Howard Died This Morning, Feb. 24, 1925

George Howard of Tarboro Dead. . . Passed Away Early This Morning; Brother of Mrs. W.T. Clark of This City; Funeral Tomorrow Afternoon

Mr. George Howard of Tarboro, brother of Mrs. W.T. Clark of this city, and one of the most prominent men and farmers of Eastern North Carolina, and beloved by a host of friend in this and other states, departed this life at 6:30 this morning at his residence in Tarboro following a stroke of paralysis last Friday.

Mr. Howard was the son of the late Judge Howard of Tarboro, and at the time of his death was president of the Runnymede Mills and was one of the largest farmers in Eastern North Carolina.

His funeral will be conducted from the Howard Memorial church of which he has been a lifelong member and an Elder, tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock, and the pall bearers will be selected from the officials and employes of Runnymede Mills.

The funeral services will be conducted by his pastor, Rev. Daniel Iberson.

The deceased leaves a wife, one daughter and three sons. These are Mrs. George Howard Jr., Mr. Rawles Howard, Mr. Robert Howard and Mrs. Durwood Leggett Jr.

He also leaves one brother and four sisters, Mrs. Stamps Howard and Mrs. Julian Baker, Mrs. George Holderness, Mrs. Alice H. Cobb, and Mrs. W.T. Clark.

In addition to members of the immediate family, Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Connor and Rev. E.L. Flannigan will attend the funeral from this city.
