Renewing Efforts to Find Girl Who Has Disappeared

$100 Reward for Miss Edna Edwards. This young girl disappeared from Hickory four weeks ago last Tuesday. Wire or phone E.W. Lentz, Chief of Police. She was a Hickory high school girl. Her mother is Mrs. J.M. Edwards of Hickory Rt. 4.

Efforts to find Miss Edna Edwards, 16-year-old high school girl who disappeared from Hickory four weeks ago last Tuesday, have been unavailing, and a picture of the girl will be printed on post cards and broadcasted throughout the country. A reward of $100 has been offered by Hickory men for information that will lead to her return to her mother, Mrs. J.M. Edwards.

The disappearance of the young girl—who dropped out of the life of Hickory without leaving a trace—has become one of the hardest mysteries the authorities have had to face. Not a clue was left. Not a friend did she confide in, if she decided to leave home. Miss Edwards was given money to purchase a dress, but she probably did not have more than $10 or $12 in all. She did not buy it. On that she could not have gone far.

Did anybody carry her off? Has she met with foul play? These are the questions being asked. The answer to them is sought by friends and relatives. It is hoped that somebody who will see this photograph—a Kodak picture—will be able to give the information.
