Mrs. Gaston B. Means and son, Billy, returned Thursday morning from New York City, where they spent several days with Mr. Means. They went to the metropolis last week at the conclusion of the trial in which Means was found guilty of conspiracy to defraud the government.
Means probably will return to Concord next week unless developments delay him longer. His attorney gave notice of appeal when he was sentenced to serve two years in the Atlanta prison and pay a fine of $10,000. Means has remained in New York to arrange plans for the appeal.
He was released on bond in the sum of $10,000, it begin reported that his bond was raised by friends and relatives in the city.
