T. Gray Coburn Dies in Norfolk. . . Prominent Business and Financial ?? Passes Away in Norfolk Home. . . Was Studebaker Distributor

Mr. T. Gray Coburn of Norfolk and this place died at his Norfolk home February 11th after an illness extending over several months.

He was prominently recognized by the business and financial world, was founder of the Coburn Motor Co., distributors of the Studebaker automobile in Virginia and the Carolinas. He was a man vigorous and active in business pursuits, which was largely responsible for the success he attained.

The deceased was raised in Martin county, just a few miles from here, and remained there until he grew into manhood. After several successful business ventures he came here and purchased the farm owned by Sheriff J.E. Reid, and great sums of money were used in developing a modern farm. This farm now stands among the foremost agricultural enterprises of the state.

He is survived by his wife, two daughter, Muriel and Eleanor, and his son, T. Gray Jr. There are also three brothers, George R. Coburn of Plymouth, C.E. Coburn of Newport News, and F.H. Coburn of Talbert, Texas. Two sisters, Mrs. T.V. Clements of Huntington, W. Va., and Mrs. A.E. King of Newport News, Va., also.
