Local Silk Mill to Double in Size, Oct. 28, 1926

Silk Mill Extension. . . Local Plant Increasing Capacity. . . E. W. Ellington Builder of Extension

It is gratifying to note that the work on the extension of the local silk mill is under headway. Two additions are planned, a 45-foot one on the east end and a slightly shorter one on the west end. Mr. E. W. Ellington has the contract for the eastern addition and is at work on it. The other extension is expected to be built after this one is completed.

The two extensions will almost double the capacity of the building. This, with the erection recently of several cottages for employees, indicates an intention on the part of the owner to extend the plant as rapidly as the circumstances justify. The mill is already an important factor in the community’s business, and the prospects are that it will constantly become a greater one.
