Beta Omicrons Entertained with Hike and Camp Supper, Oct. 8, 1924

Beta Omicron Betas Entertained Tuesday. . . Hike and Camp Supper Afford Enjoyable Outing

The Beta Omicron Beta girls were charmingly entertained on Tuesday afternoon by their honorary members, Misses Hill and Fisher. The event was a camp supper given at “God’s Room,” an ideal picnic site near Elon.

About 4 o’clock the enthusiastic guests, with the hostesses, left with utensils and provisions. They were joined by Mesdames L.M. and C.M. Cannon. A jolly bunch it was who winded their way through the woods, stopping here and there to make pictures, and singing between times.

No sooner had they reached their destination than wood was gathered and bonfires made. In a short time the air was filled with the odor of boiling coffee, broiling steak, toast and roasting corn, which increased greatly the already growing appetites of this energetic group. To this menu was added sandwiches, homemade cake, candies and fruits.

After each had done her share of eating, the bonfires were built up and everyone joined together for a general good time. Various games were played, jokes were told and songs were sung. Those rendered by Miss Fisher were especially enjoyed. As the time for returning drew near each guest was given an attractive souvenir in the form of a balloon.

The fun was not over till they arrived and the campus and each went her way declaring the event had been a delightful one and long to be remembered.
