A report received here during the afternoon said that George Barrow, elderly white man, who resided about six miles beyond Pollocksville, dropped dead at his home there shortly after noon, the result of heart failure.
Mr. Barrow, well known and highly respected by people in his community, had been to Maysville during the morning, carrying a load of tobacco there for sale on the market.
It was while feeding his mules just after returning from Maysville that he was stricken, dying suddenly, it was said.
