On Sunday afternoon at3 o’clock when the pastor at McKindree Church, W.E. Moretz, was just ready to begin his sermon, a mysterious body of men robed in white entered the church, approached the altar, presented the pastor the following letter and with it a Holy Bible and a contribution of $40 in gold. After the paper was read to the congregation they quietly disappeared.

Following is the letter presented to the pastor:

To Rev. W.E. Moretz:--

Were it not that our Order is founded on the Word of GOD we would not Exist.

Believing that your work in the world is for the uplift of mankind, and having a deep regard for you is what you are doing, we take this method of expressing our appreciation of you.

First, we present you the Holy Bible as it is our guide in our every deliberation.

Second, we present you this contribution, knowing that you will let it multiply and bring forth fruit for the Master’s cause.

Our mission on earth is to obey the teaching of the Holy Scriptures, live as true Americans—obey the laws of our noble land—protect and do everything in our power for the preservation of our noble Woman-hood, and let the world know that we cherish the memory of our beloved forefathers.

Presented by representatives of the
