Asheville--Clyde Taylor and Dewey Davis, Asheville petting party bandits, received sentences of 5 to 8 years in the State’s prison, in Superior Court here Sept. 23.
They were accused of taking Nora Wallace, young white woman, to ride in an automobile and after giving her whiskey robbed her of a sum of money and three valuable diamond rings. It was charged that after robbing her, they threw her from the car and drove off leaving her by the roadside.
The men in their defense testified that Miss Wallace had refused to accompany them home and they were therefore forced to leave her by the roadside.
