Last Saturday James Pentecost, 8 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Pentecost, who live about three miles North East of Roxboro, was painfully injured. It seems he was walking across the sweet potato patch with a butcher knife in his hand and in some way fell down, the knife penetrating his breast, striking near the heart.
At first it was thought the accident would be fatal, but he was rushed to the hospital in Durham, where an examination showed the wound was not fatal. At this writing, Tuesday, it is thought he will recover.
