Miss Lucy Macon died at her home at Igleside Sunday morning in the 66th year of her age. The funeral was held from the home on Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock and was conducted by Rev. J. C. Williams assisted by Rev. O. W. Dowd, and the interment was made in the cemetery at Trinity church. The pall bearers were T. K. Allen, E. B. Foster, J. Y. Bessley, S. E. Wilson, Moses Inscoe, Dick Hunt.
Miss Macon was a most estimable Christian woman, being a devoted and consistent member of Trinity Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed in her community as she was a most generous and beloved neighbor and friend, always getting much pleasure from any service she could perform that would tend to serve her Savior or bring happiness to those around her.
She leaves two brothers, Mr. W. H. Macon of Louisburg and Mr. O. S. Macon of Ingleside, and five sisters, Mrs. Nat Debnam of Eagle Rock, Mrs. D. T. Smithwick of Louisburg, Mrs. George M. Manning, Mrs. Lizzie Foster and Miss Laura Macon of Ingleside.
Large numbers of relatives and friends attended both services and the floral tribute was especially large and beautiful, speaking a tender message of love and devotion.
The bereaved relatives and friends have the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
