Whiskey for the baby. If a certain pickananny in Charlotte ever attains his majority, he should be a wow when it comes to begin a general cut up. His mother, the wife of J. T. King of 322 East Hill Street, told Magistrate J. M. Alexander in police court Monday morning the whiskey kept in her home was kept by her for the benefit of the infant, and that her husband, who was charged with possession, knew nothing of its presence until officers searched the house.
The judge expressed his doubts concerning the value of hootch as a diet for an infant and ordered the woman held on a count of possession. She gave bond of $100,000 for her appearance Tuesday. The husband was released.
